Why Dual Fuel Makes Sense on the Road
When you travel, you don't always know what you'll want to cook, or what fuel you'll have on hand. Maybe there's a campsite fire ban in the morning but a good evening for charcoal. Maybe you only have time for a quick lunch at a tailgate. With two fuel modes, you can adjust to the situation instead of planning around one fuel type.
Quick starts
Use gas when you're short on time.
Flavor when you want it
Use charcoal when you have time to enjoy the cook.
Fewer things to carry
One folding grill instead of two.
What to Know Before You Choose Dual Fuel
Dual-fuel grills combine two ways of cooking in one body. That's convenient, but it also means more parts to manage, such as ash from charcoal and grease from cooking. We designed FoldSear as a folding unit with a removable charcoal tray, so you can cook on gas without the tray in place.
- Charcoal mode needs time: wait until the coals ash over before you start cooking.
- Charcoal produces ash, so there is cleanup after you cook.
- Specific cleaning steps are in the owner's manual.
Charcoal and Gas Safety Basics
- Use the grill outdoors only. Burning charcoal produces carbon monoxide, which has no color or smell and can reach dangerous levels in enclosed spaces.
- Never use it inside a home, vehicle, tent, or camper, even with ventilation.
- Charcoal can keep giving off carbon monoxide until it is completely extinguished, so don't store the grill indoors with used coals.
- Never leave a lit grill unattended, and keep children and pets away from the cooking area.
- Keep the grill on a stable, level surface away from flammable items.
- Follow the owner's manual for gas connection, leak checks, and fuel switching.
