Why Have Both on a Portable Grill?

A grill is great for steaks and char marks. A griddle handles things that would fall through the grates, like eggs, pancakes, chopped vegetables, and thin or delicate foods. On a camping or tailgating trip, that means you can cook breakfast and dinner on the same unit. You pack one grill, not a grill and a separate flat-top.

Cleanup Tips for the Cooking Plate

The cooking plate has a non-stick surface. As a general rule for non-stick plates, let it cool, pour off excess grease, wash it with warm soapy water, and avoid steel wool or harsh scrubbers that could damage the coating. The coating is designed to be easier to clean. Follow the owner's manual for your exact plate.

FAQ

Cooking plate questions

Can I cook eggs and pancakes on it?

Yes, on the flat griddle side. The raised grate side is better for steaks, burgers, and vegetables with grill marks.

How do I switch between grill and griddle?

Flip the reversible plate. Follow the manual for cooling and switching steps.

Is the plate non-stick?

The plate is described as non-stick coated. Use non-abrasive tools and follow the manual.

Can I use metal utensils?

We recommend silicone or wooden utensils to protect the coating, unless the manual says otherwise.

Is the plate dishwasher safe?

We have not confirmed that the plate is dishwasher safe. Many non-stick plates are hand-washed, so follow the manual for now.
